Thank you Minotaur Books for gifting me a review copy of A Simple Murder by Linda Castillo. This is a collection of short stories that act as companions to the Kate Burkholder series. These stories are #4.5, 6.5, 7.5, 8.5, 9.5, and 10.5.
Even if you haven’t read the series yet you can still pick up this collection and be completely enthralled from the first page. Each story is wonderfully gripping and provides all the information you need to get sucked into that world. They’re the perfect length, and just the right blend of mystery, detective work, and suspense to make it difficult to stop at just one story each time you pick up the book.
I’ll admit that short stories aren’t usually my thing, but I devoured this book and couldn’t get enough of Kate Burkholder, so I’ll definitely be going back and starting the whole series at book one. If you’re interested in reading them, these are the other books in the series.
