Confetti
Thank you to Zuzanna Szostak for gifting me a review copy of her poetry collection, Confetti.
I’ve been super into poetry lately, so I was thrilled when the author reached out to share her work with me. Her prose is bright and young, but also extremely cozy and nostalgic. You’ll be transported to rainy nights, and remembrances of childhood. I recommend curling up with a soft blanket and a hot cup of tea to devour her words.
There is a wistful air to each of her poems and overall it’s an incredibly sweet and readable collection. I could really see them being set to music too, I think they’d work well as song lyrics. There are also interesting, textured art pieces interspersed between the poems (courtesy of Charlotte Valentin). You can grab your own copy via the button below.
Synopsis:
Confetti is a representation of teenage nostalgia, love, and troubles shown from a perspective of an 18-year-old girl. The book itself is a journey throughout the conscious and subconscious of a young mind in the years of teenage angst and despair. Often sarcastic, the poems provide the reader with relatable (and sometimes brutally honest) views on the world and reality. This collection was created throughout 2018-2021.
