Life on Loan by Ashley Farley was such a sweet and hopeful read. Who doesn’t dream of escaping their daily life sometimes to reinvent or find themselves? Throw in a dash of romance, a new location to discover, and a pinch of drama and you’ve got yourself a wonderful book!

Friends, Lena and Olivia, are both going through some personal difficulties in their lives and agree to switch houses for a month. Lena goes to Olivia’s condo in Charleston, and Olivia heads up to Lena’s isolated river house to get away. They’re both doing some soul searching and trying to work out what they want their futures to look like.

Part of the book takes place in Charleston, which I’d just visited for the first time recently, so I really felt like I was there…walking along Rainbow Row, visiting the shops downtown, and sipping cocktails in the rooftop bars.
